The Journal of Physical Chemistry C’s cover story

JPCC

Our work "Chemical Characterization of a Three-Dimensional Double-Decker Molecule on a Surface via Scanning-Tunneling-Microscopy-Based Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy" is featured on The Journal of Physical Chemistry C's cover today! In this article, we studied three-dimensional double-decker building blocks which are promising systems in molecular spintronics due to their built-in spin and charge functionality. We incorporated tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy to chemically identify the molecular adsorption configurations and self-assembly formation processes. The non-resonance Raman fingerprint of the adsorbed molecules was complemented by the density functional theory simulation, realizing the full potential of this technique.
